I didn't realise that VW made such big trucks. Maybe such large VW's are only built under licence in Brazil, as we don't see them here in Europe.

Correct, Steve. These Brazilian VW heavy trucks are actually MAN mechanicals, with engines up to 340 HP, but this one has an early VW light truck cab - which is one reason it looks a bit small on this rather large vehicle!

There are quite a lot of VW fire trucks in Brazil, and some have been exported to other South American markets. Many are large high volume tankers like this one, because a lot of towns rely on tankers rather than hydrants for water supplies at fires.
