The 1222F was developed specifically for fire service use, combining a (for the time) unusually powerful 220 BHP engine with a relatively light duty 12 to GVW chassis. Large numbers were sold in Germany of course, but it was also quite a popular export, with units going to several countries including the UK, Israel and the Netherlands. It’s not clear if this one was bought used from a German fire service or imported new.
