1942/43 Austin K4/Merryweather Turntable Ladder
1942/43 Austin K4/Merryweather 60ft Turntable Ladder.
Photographed at the Odiham Fire Show,August 2008,this was the only aerial appliance in attendance this year.A total of 50 of these Austin K4/Merryweather 60ft hand-operated turntable ladders were manufactured between 1942/43. Many of these NFS 60ft turntable ladders were to see some twenty years + service with county brigades following re-organisation in 1948, and actually,many well in the late 1960's.

Then, the bell mounted on the Ladder Crutch, Hard-Suction Hose stowed on
the Aerial, and the Spare Tire stowage..... very unique for our peace-time
North American eyes.
