1996 Mercedes/JDC/Hiab heavy rescue tender of the West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service.This is one of three HRTs with the WSF&RS and is located at the fire station at Crawley,the brigades busiest station which is a Wholetime/Retained station with 3 pumping appliances,a 4x4 vehicle for grass fires,and this HRT.All three HRT's are to be replaced this year with Scania appliances with bodywork by JDC.

I was speaking to one of the Littlehampton firefighters at littlehampton's fire station open day {2008}, and he said that this appliance, once replaced at Crawley will be moved to Horsham to replace their crash tender.

yeh hi dan that was me / i said it was a possability it was going to horsham but ive also heard down the grape vine that it could be kept as a reserve hrt when the others go off for services and repairs as they use a transit van at the moment for a reserve hrt but we will have to wait and see what the service does nice to here from you calvin

have been told that the 2 x k reg ones have been seen at shoreham car auctions and also been told that this p reg one is to follow the same fate but dont know when , i thought they might have kept it for a spare ???

Passing the Shoreham Car Auctions(Lancing) today,spotted and photographed just the one 1993 Ex-WSFB(K658 MBP)Heavy Rescue Tender.That was the one that was allocated to Chichester.
