For many years these open cab Maxims were easily recognizable by their unique deep bucket seats for the driver and company officer, often including the gold coachlining, as on this example. At the time, the competion all made do with a bench seat, whose occupants must have felt quite a bit less secure in high speed turns.

This is a truly exceptional example of yet another famous lost American custom fire engine builder.
