Engine 175 (Pierce Saber)Five Points Fire Company (Delaware) operates this 1996 Pierce Saber as its 1st due engine (pump)in their local alarm district. Onboard is room for an 8 person crew, 1250 GPM, 1000 Gallon Tank, 1200' of 4" Supply Line, 700' 1-3/4" Crosslays, 200' 2-1/2" Blitz Line. A note for my pals overseas -- here in the USA, we have no Federal Standard for firefighting apparatus. Equipment changes radically from one fire district to the next. I liken it to the French and British working together at the same blaze. Most US Fire Departments become members of the non-governmental NFPA and as such must adhere to the NFPA-1901 Standard for Motorized Apparatus. (Google it -- you'll learn a great deal)
