Brandweer Stabroek DAF 1300 watertender

Strabroek has more second hand vehicles. This DAF 1300 DT 340 came from Holland. The fire brigade of Joure bought this car in 1980. In 2001 the car moved to Stabroek. It's not only a pumper but contains also rescue equipment.

For a country like Belgium has two official languages, French and Flemish, it is surprising that the markings and prints that are affixed in the latter. Firefighters Flemish policy would they???

Well, the country is bilingual, but each of the regions is monolingual. Brussel/Bruxelles is officially bilingual and both languages (Brandweer/Pompiers) appear on fire trucks. See picture 22331 for an example.

On the subject of fire engines in Belgium, can anyone help. In 1988 AEC TGM4R"Mercury"/Merryweather 100' TL EJC870F was sold by Gwynedd Fire Service to a brigade in the country and the ladders removed and re-mounted onto a chassis there. Does anyone know which brigade it was?
