Ron,
The 4WD Hinos are GT1K's, not FF1J's.... the FF1J's are 2WD!
Are these trucks in a Staging Area, for a Brush(Wildland) Fire, in Australia ?
What do they carry, and pump ?
This date; there are quite a few images, in the Media, of Fire Equipment working the big fires in Australia - fuelled by the high temperatures and the drought.
They simply carry water - not too sure of the capacity of the onboard tanks though! Once out in the fire field, they can add foam or just use the water on it's own!
Hi Guys, The pumpers carry 1800L water and 2 X 20L foam. Used to carry AFFF produced by 3M. Now they will carry the new Forexpan S and Niagara foam types for class A and B fires respectively. The Cat 1 tanker at the back has a tank capacity of 3300L water and carries 60L foam - normally 40L BFFF and 20L AFFF and runs through a foam induction proportioner for up to 1% BFFF and 6% AFFF. Hazaa for RFS! :)
