This was another effort by American La France to compete with commercial truck chassis with a lower cost version of their custom product line. But - like previous efforts - it seems not to have been too successful.

It was built only a year before the company was sold, followed by bankruptcy in 2008 and final closure in 2014.

Departments who bought these Alfies in the firm's final death throes are now often having major parts supply problems - another reason to buy Internationals or Freightliners!
