1912 Dennis 'N' Type

This is one of earlier Dennis 'N' Types in preservation. It is on show at the National Railaway Museum at York in England. It was used by the Great Western Railway at Swindon. The searchlight on top of the scuttle is a very attractive feature. Currently it is not a 'runner'.

In 1912 quite a few fire brigades were still buying new horse drawn steam fire engines.

In 1913, London had motor fire engines at only 24 of their 63 stations, but had still not decided to actually replace all their horse drawn units. This did not happen until ten years later!
