Nick Brookes' appliance during the demolition of a factory in Warrington. It was a 1988 South Yorkshire fire & rescue service appliance, reg. E999 WET. It is a Volvo FL9. 14/Excalibur water tender ladder.

Thank you for the photo of this. As a 14 year old, this engine came to a big house fire on our road in Sheffield. I had spotted the fire and had called 999. This was the engine to first arrive. I was talking about the number plate this morning some 48 years later and thought I would search for it online.

I think this numbrt plate is just about the perfect label for a fire service water tender!
