hey all, what's the purpose of the short hose coming off and looping back into the pump?

The purpose of that short hose, is to stop the pump over heating by sending the water though the pump. like a dump valve.

the purpose of that is to stop the pump from over heating when pumping at high revs. it helps the water circulate at a lower temperature and stops the pump being damaged
