Fire Engines Photos

this german ambulance is the same type as in use with the german armed forces, as a 4-stretcher unit with bodywork by BINZ.I don´t know if it is the same type or a more emergency-like single stretcher type.Anyone knows more about ?

This Vehicle is an Mercedes Unimog U 1300 L, built by C.Miesen for the German federal Armed Forces, as all-terrain ambulance. It is equipped with 4 foldable stretchers, the mounting platforms for the stretchers can be lifted up to save space or to sit on like on a bench.

Mogs are also used in numerous applications by fire services all over the World, with plenty of terrific photos on this site.

They were originally designed for farm use, then rapidly adopted by various armies and not long after by fire services.

They are not great on road but quite amazing off road, once the driver has learned where they can go - which is almost anywhere!
