Brian, the Odiham Fire Show held every August in Hampshire(not this year 2007 because of all the rain we had)is now the largest in the U.K., and maybe Europe. I have attended everyone and displayed my collection of model fire appliances and scratch built fire stations from around the world. Each year, different displays put on by the organisers covers different periods in time of the fire service, ie.....horse drawn era, (hand pump and steam)the war years with vehicles from that era, to the 50's and 60's(like this photo), and of coarse the present day.All in all, this is a brilliant show covering 2 days, which takes months of planning, and a lot of time given-up freely by the organisers and volunteers like myself who display at these shows during the summer period.
And dare I say it, 'JETHRO' will be along again causing more trouble again in 2009.Every year he comes along to the show and sets fire to something....You've all been warned, so be aware-this man is trouble.

Pete - wonderful show!
In this day and age of environmental concerns I am a bit surprised you can still get the okay for lighting what is essentially a giant bonfire like this.
