Squrt 21 is a 1983 Seagrave 1500gpm pumper with articulating squrt. Shown here with Ladder-21, a 1998 E-One HP 75' Quint. Both vehicles are on the run with the Mill Creek Fire Company - a combination department -- in New Castle County, Delaware.

Lou, absolutely no resemblance to the 'Eurotoaster' design, it must be very punishing having to ride around in these for a living, , , ,

Pavel, what is the 'Eurotoaster', plse ?
I am new to this 'Site.
Great shot, the white-over-green looks pretty sharp; I hadn't thought of green fire equipment in North America.
But then the 'Green Goddess' of Britain comes to mind.
Any 'Green Goddess' photos, here?

Pat_R-B, 'Eurotoaster' is a term of endearment (possibly as a result of extreme jealousy) commonly used by fire engine enthusiasts outside of the UK and Europe, when referring to and/or or in reference to fire fighting vehicles manufactured in the UK/Europe. There is an excellent example, picture 6317, , , ,

Pavel; I checked out #6317, and it is a great rig - perfectly illustrates The Eurotoaster concept.
As a kid, I always thought the UK Fire Engines resembled vans; as opposed to the Fire Department trucks that I watched, on this side of The Pond.

Different US fire departments paint apparatus almost every color of the rainbow - and then some! These are often handed down by tradition, and even sometimes predate the automotive era.

The most extreme versions are usually to be found in smaller volunteer fire companies. In some areas, where structure fires are attended by several mutual aid fire companies, you can see almost as many color schemes as there are apparatus on scene.
