Fireman, okay guy, remember in the movies when Mick 'Crocodile' Dundee pulls out his knife and says to the would-be robber, "That's not a knife, this is a KNIFE..!! Well, sort of something like that here you could say, "That's not a bell, this is a BELL..!! I can't believe the size of that mother, firstly, how in hadies did they cast the thing, and secondly, what sort of structure did they build to hang it from!! And, thirdly, how far away could you hear the gosh damn jolly ring, , , ,
Thats a pretty good trick shot Mr'The Fireman'of the bell(the Big Bell)which appears to be on the front bumper, one of a hell of a weight to carry though. In actual fact(Pavel)that Big Bell proberly once hung in the tower of the original firehall(Fire Station)in the town of Anniston in Alabama and would have been used to summon the vol-firies to the firehouse.
Ding, ding, ding, ding! Give Mr. Matten a cardboard cookie with rabbit rasins as the big prize of the day. It did indeed hang in the tower of Anniston's original Station #1. AFD's history goes back to the horse drawn era. Pavel, my knowledge of bell casting is a bit weak, but there were many bells cast this size in the 1800's and early 1900's. You know us Americans, ain't nothing too big for us!
