Nottingham City Fire Brigade also operated a Leyland Mastiff ET in the 1970s, which was quite a rare sight - as it seems very few Mastiff appliances were operated by fire brigades.
The most unexpected example I did come across was a Mastiff 6X4 tanker in service with the Batallion de Marins Pompiers de Marseille.
Although - like many other French fire services - they operated numerous Land Rovers, this was the only British truck I ever saw or heard of in French firefighting service. It was replaced by a Mercedes F2628 6X4, which was in turn replaced by an Actros 3235 6X4.
