Fire Engines Photos

This is a ALP-15 (T-150K)-177A appliance, made by the Russian (perhaps still Soviet at the time when it was built?) company 'Poshmashina'. It was listed among 'specialist appliances for forest and peat bog firefighting' on Igor Zhukov's page:

Wow, a Tractor-Drawn Tanker, for a change from the TD Aerials.

And, drawn by a "Tractor-type" Tractor - would there be a Drive-Shaft running back to power the Tank's dual-rear-axles ?

It is a great idea, for getting into a Forest Fire [Wildland Fire - Bush Fire].
Obviously, not meant for paved highway travel.....all the other traffic would be overtaking it .....

Have seen several photo's of similar equipment I believe the German fire service has several apparently issued to small villages they maybe a hangover from Soviet occupation

Jim - the German version is illustrated on this site. It is a standard agricultural tractor with a polyethelene 10, 000 liter tank trailer, a portable pump and two reels for 42 MM hose. Very basic, but better than buckets!

Presumably the tractor can also have served on the communal farm for any other purpose a tractor is used for - and the trailer could have been used for agriculural watering too, when not called to a fire.

I think that the tractor is a Kirovets tractor.They was build from the start to be delivered to the russian army, and the porpose was to draw artillery pieces.
