Pav, that's a WARD LaFrance. That body style was made popular by a TV show called "Emergency". Los Angeles E-51 on the show was a Ward LF. (Not trying to steal your thunder there Neil, just browsing thru.)
Fireman, thanks for the update, now you got me to wondering how France rated a mention in two major apparatus builders, ALF and WLF. I guess I'll have to do a little research, , Neil, I've moved my attention to the aerial? pictured at the rear of Engine 6. This looks to be a fine piece of equipment but I don't think it appears in this great run of your latest photos?
I too noticed that aerial in the background.Its an ALF 'Century Series' rearmount 100' aerial ladder, I do hope Neil got a picture for us all to have a look at.The American-Lafrance'Century Series'were a classic piece of American fire apparatus just like the American Mack'CF'Series from the same period of time, the 1970's into the 1980's.
