Neil, is that red thing at the back part of this truck or something else, thanks, , , , (I LIKE it by the way, and the bell and clear lens 360 degree beacon).

My guess is that red thing is part of the bucket, on the end of the aerial....

Hahn Fire Apparatus (1923-1989) of Hamburg, er, in State of Pennsylvania, USA; that is. Built their custom chassis' - also other commercial trucks, too.

And, thanks, Greg - that was going to be my question - as to the manufacturer.

This is DEROIT's 1970 Ladder # 6.
It is a 1970 " SUTPHEN " 85 Foot Ladder with a Rescue Bucket on the end. The red Thing's on the back are the two turret nozzles! The chassis is a tamden axle SUTPHEN with a TCM (Cincinnati- cab)
They were a cab manufacture that sold them to Sutphen,Hahn, Etc! SUTHPHEN started making their own Custom Cabs in the mid '70's.(Same with HAHN).
This truck was retrofitted with a 1000 GPM (U.S.)Pump two years later. The box and lattice style ladder was designed by Sutphen.

A real classic. Along with the bell and clear-lens "bubble-gum machine" goes the big Federal Q siren, which is still de rigeur on most US fire engines. See description at
