Saw this appliance on the run at Liberton as reserve last week. Still looks as good as new.

steve is this being used as 581? where is N306?

Added by Jamie Percival on 17 March 2008.
N306 currently having a service whilst we use this machine. Scott, sadly she doesn't run as good as she looks!. Suspension is like a brick and the oic's seat will not move up or down for height so now our oic looks even smaller when sitting in front!!!.

Fire Brigade Handbook shows M134 at Dunbar. What replaced it? Also where are L&B reserve machines are stored when not required as cover?

A couple of other questions:

why was the ALP at Sighthill withdrawn (never the same after its crash years ago)? Seems odd L&B are running 3 older TLs when they withdrew the H reg Renault/Dodge.

Also, will the Scania Crash Tender that used to be at Newcraighall ever return or be replaced?

M134 was replaced by sn04cmx (ex bathgate) (which was replaced by sk07bko).

sighthills alp was removed I think due to it being so unreliable.

the hrt that was at newcraighal was replaced by the miu that is there just now and the hrt is being converted to a skid training vehicle I think.

reserve machines are stored usually at city centre fire stations though there are a couple at Newbridge. At the moment there are 2 completely kitted out 'Maintenance Reserve' machines, 1 is currently at Crewe Toll but not sure where other one is. Idea behind this is to reduce time off run for appliance change-overs unless your station is unable to take newer machines and your stuck changing over scanny 93's!.
