Tri-Community L-73

The Tri-Community FD is known for their great ability to refurbish older classics and this is a nice one. This 1972 Mack/Baker 75' Aerialscope, Mod. #CF611FAP, Ser. #1405, served FDNY as L-146. Then served the Colonial, NJ FD as Tower 1. Tri-Community VFD purchased her and completely refurbed her, painted her a yucky slime lime and now she'll serve many more years doing what she loves to do, stick her ladder in the air. With all the overhaul she has received, it is reasonable to assume she will serve 40+ years total of fighting the red devil.

Ladder-Jacks on the Front Bumper - a different idea, and looks like another set at very rear, to get all the wheels off the ground.

Great-looking rig, hope she gets all those years in.

Pat,
The other stabilizers are the big arms folded up in the middle at the turntable. What you see at the rear are the plates that are pulled out and placed on the ground under the pads of the stabilizers.
BTW, don't listen to Mr. Hurt, he is in dire need of professional help these days!(hehehe) PAINT HER RED!

Nice to see a refurbished machine giving long service, a lesson that many could learn from! As for the colour, well were the paint shop people on drugs of some kind?

Looks like you did a great job fixing her up. We had her from 1984 until 1999 saw a lot of fires in those years. Most memorable one was the Edison gas pipeline (Texas Eastern Transmission) explosion on March 23 1994, Our truck was assigned 8 buildings they told us to save at least 4 of them, they saved all 8
