Vic, both Mercedes-Benz DCU ended up in Singapore!
JYE 995N became YA9170L (DCU 84) at the central fire station
JYE 996N became YA9174B (DCU 83) at the Jurong fire station
Both went out of service in 1992.
So after 1984 did you joined the LFB?
Cheers,
Frank
