The new Volvo FLL-15 model fire appliance has a 7 litre 280 BHP diesel engine that is compliant with Euro 5 legislation.
Echo 22 Extended rescue pump is the 2nd new appliance to be on the run for east sussex which is based at bexhill fire station.

Hi Danny for now no but there are 3 new 59 trucks in the workshops what will be going on the run shortly.

Hi Dan, East Sussex have 17 on the run at present with 3 new ones about to be fitted out and then sent to the stations for training.Not to sure which stations are to receive the new ones but could be Roedean, Crowborough and Rye.

Due to their co-operation with Renault, these Volvos have the same factory crew cab as Renault municipal vehicles and fire appliances.
Costs are kept down by using a second set of front doors with a filler panel for the wheel arch cut out.
The cab is rather low with limited headroom, but now that firefighters have to wear seat belts and their BA sets are in the seat backrests, there is no getting dressed inside the cab any longer, so headroom is less of a concern.
