AEC/Merryweather Turntable ladder Eastbourne
DHC 222E)1966/67 AEC/Merryweather 100ft Turntable Ladder which was located at Eastbourne Fire Station.This turntable ladder gave some twenty years service to the East Sussex Fire Brigade at Eastbourne before coming out of service in 1987/88 and being replaced with a Man/Angloco/Metz TL which remained in service until 2006.Today,Eastbourne have in operation a Volvo Aerial Ladder Platform.This photo of Eastbourne's old TL was taken at the station when appearing again at an open day in the early 1990's.
