These monsters are quite popular in affluent third World countries, which have built high rise towers with little regard to structural fire safety.

A pity London has only just decided to join them.

They are notably absent from North American fire departments, as well as being very rare in Western Europe, where high rise building codes are much more stringent and properly enforced
