London Ambulance Service HARTOk, I know not strictly "fire", but interesting still? This is the Hazardous Area Response Team, trained to enter the "Hot Zone" of an incident beside fire & rescue to administer advanced medical care at the centre of an incident, and also tasked to serious calls such as large fires, major RTCs and the like. L-R shows: 2 x rapid response Vauxhall Zafiras, equiped with SCBA sets & medical equipment; Forward command unit (all sorts of gizmos); Light equipment vehicle, the main runaround, has side lockers to allow quick access to SCBA & other specialist rescue kit and finally the heavy equipment vehicle, containing more HAZMAT gear and other kit. This is a trial project, another offshoot is to train USAR HART units. All of the training is done side by side with Fire & Rescue, the Police & relevant agencies.
