I've never seen this machine before, is it still around?

Hi Chris i'm not sure if its still around I have not seen it for a long time, not sure if anybody else has seen it. I took the photo in 1990's.

just to let everyone know this appliance is under restoration at the moment we also believe it to be from halifax as is livered up as halifax fire brigade .it how ever is not on the same registration . the fire engine is now owned by myself n my brother in bradford if you know an more info or have pictures pls mail of contact us thanks spencer .www, westyorkshireclassics.co.uk

Thats a cracker Tim & Spencer, I believe the Halifax collection, My old dad seems to remember it, he said there were a few in Bradford as well, the escape reaching most levels on the mills.

This Appliance was new to Halifax - in keeping with a lot of brigades in the area it was named - in this case 'Percy Shaw' - the Halifax born inventor of the 'cats eye' the nameplate is just visible below the windscreen and above the headlight on the n/s of the front panel

A worthy successor to the famous F12, but somehow lacking the mystique. The F12 was so advanced for its day when it was first introduced - the F20 series moved the needle a notch further on, but there were a lot of carryover components under the more up to date bodywork...

If you notice the overhang of the Ajax extension ladder..it may appear badly stowed ?...if its the same ladder that was on the vehicle when I saw it many years ago (and I expect it is) that's because its a 40' Ajax ladder and not the more common 35' version !

Rick - a 40 foot wood extension ladder must have been pretty close to being the "Gutbuster" of its day! This must have needed four firemen to position it?
