FDNY. Ladder Co 2 and Ladder Co 16 with Battalion Chief 8 at a fire in an upper floors of a building in Mid - Manhatten. Photo taken in December 2005, along with the Ladder Companies was several Engines, Patrol 1 and Rescue 1 at this incident.

FDNY responds to fire calls in Midtown with a minimum of three engines, two aerials, Rescue 1 (or a squad company if R1 is not available), a Chief, a safety officer and an ambulance, comprising a force of 36 members.

Specific risk structures are also attended by additional units, which vary according to the designated pre-planned response.
