Terry, not wishing to state the obvious, a ladder? But more importantly, how's about downloading a sound file of the screamer on the right-hand front bumper and seeing if the two Marcels can reproduce somewhere on this site?

I didn't see it, but usually these truck approximately 1200' of either 50mm or
65mm hose in bundles of 30 meters carried in back of the truck. In addition, the
truck also had a small portable pump carried in back. A small dry powder extinguisher and 2 playpipes as well. The ladder was usually a very short one,
usually about the length of an American roof ladder, and only one was carried.
