This design - built by Steyr since 1979 and also sold by Mercedes - has a very similar history to the Land-Rover, as it was originally designed for military use.

It is very similar in size and off-road performance, but has also earned an exceptional and well-deserved reputation for outstanding durability and reliability. Many have given long years of service with various military and emergency service organizations in more than forty different countries around the World.

The G has had one of the longest production runs in history, and is still being sold in large numbers after nearly 40 years without any major changes.
