Is just the Turntable Ladder Magirus; the truck itself is actually a Deutz, judging from the logo on radiator grille ?

Great truck; great photo.

Yes the modelis from 1951. Actually the ladder belonged to Baasrode, which became a part of Dendermonde. Fleet No B9.
Pat, the logo is the M from Magirus, Deutz is the engine. Hence the name Magirus-Deutz. When Iveco took over Magirus, Deutz stepped out of it.

Hi Pat! The orgin of the logo is the churchtower in the german city Ulm.It was in that city Conrad Dietrich Magirus
started his company. He became a member of the volunteer firebrigade, and later elected to firebrigadechief. Deutz is still making engines for the industri, and there are agricultar machines with that name. Some of them is in use here in Sweden.

Anders F.Sweden.
