Thanks. It seems most of the American and European so-called electrics are really hybrid drive systems so far, with a big battery and an electric motor as well as regular diesel engine, traditional transmission and rear axle rather than a set of electric wheel motors and a standby diesel generator like the Rosenbauer. The one possible exception is a Volvo, which seems to be a bit more advanced. I know Berlin is testing one of these, and I suspect it may be because it is very likely lower cost than the Rosenbauer, although the city liked their Rosenbauer prototype and have ordered another batch ( I think perhaps five?).
