This is the heavy duty version of the former LF8, built on a nine ton truck chsssis rather than the more common sub 7.5 ton van or light truck chassis - which did not require a HCV driver's licence. Although more expensive, these heavier duty alternatives tended to be even more durable, as evidenced by this example - which went on to a useful second life after 32 years as a pumper!
