Wildfire unit based on a Maisto base model which happens to be yellow. I had to cut and lengthen the chassis slightly. And remove the front loader which came with this model. This is a real machine. In the winter in the Lake District it carries a yellow gritter unit and snowplough. see

www.mhwmagazine.co.uk/news/mercedes-benz-unimog-conquer-i...

In the summer that body is lifted off and a wildfire unit in red is carried. Based Appleby.

Recently seen on the national news on duty in South Wales and Derbyshire as part of national resilience response to wildfires.

The FIRE sign at the front covers part of the snowplough mechanism when it is fire fighting.

Scale about 1:35-40. on YouTube here on the run:

Seems like a very cost effective way of using one truck for two entirely different purposes, depending on the season. Mogs are very expensive, so making the same truck truly useful all year round is a really clever idea.

It does however presumably require two quite different agencies to cooperate as to availability and maintenance requirements, which may not always be politically feasible.
