The bespoke stowage layout has been designed around specialist USAR equipment, with key features including:
• Rear-mounted winch
• Electrically operated awnings
• Dual light masts for enhanced scene lighting

Is it intended exclusively for USAR or is it also equipped for other more general rescue operations?

Hi, just USAR, it was at Carmarthen Open Day today, will be based at Earlswood, due to go on the run in October.

In many places - not least in Germany - dedicated USAR response is almost always a highly specialized container carried on a multipurpose pod carrier. These are usually 26 to 32 ton 6X4 or even 8X4 chassis. The reason is that these incidents are - although often very serious - comparatively rare, and it seems thst vet few agenciesjustify the expense of a truck solely for these.

Some German fire services have all but abandoned every kind of specialist rescue, logistics, support and firefighting rig in favor of roll on/roll off containers. In many towns, a dozen or more different containers sit ready to be rolled onto carrier chassis and dispatched to cover almost any and every possible kind of incident.
