This has the ultra short crew cab often supplied by Renault on its compact 4X4 brush pumper chassis. Two sit up front of course on either side of the engine, while the other two sit sideways behind them in outward facing rear seats. As a result the overall cab length is reduced - but rear accommodation is limited to two people instead of three or four. This cab configuration is also to be found quite frequently on both MAN and Mercedes Unimog brush pumpers used by French fire services, but it does not seem to crop up very much in any other countries.
In Germany brush pumpers are usually two door Unimogs with three front seats, while other countries of use full length crew cabs for five or even six crew. When the UK eventually starts to get serious about brush trucks we will see how British brigades decide to staff them…
