Great little units, how does CFA carry 1000 litres of water on these with out going over the GVM, ACT RFS units only carry 500 litres and sit right on the GVM

The DSE & CFA Slip on units only carry about 400L of water. They also have "A Class" foam systems which make the water more effective. Later models (V8 Diesel) have significant suspension work done to allow a larger water tank capacity.

The DSE & CFA slip on units only carry about 500L as do similar vehicles from other fire services. Toyota has been kind enough to offer a suspension upgrade which increases the GVM. These little units are particularly usefull as a Quick Response Vehicle and in mountainous terrain where the larger tankers are somewhat cumbersome.

Very handy vehicle, no special licence upgrade needed, parts readily available. Why are the ACTRFS replacing their fleet of Light Units with NSW Cat 7 and 2 sized vehicles? Keep your eyes open for low km 75/78 Cruisers up for tender sometime soon!
