As I recall Munich was the first to buy Magirus low profile ladders, and these early efforts - though practical - were remarkably ugly, with a weird protruding snout. A handful made their way to the UK and some of them appeared on this site. This more modern version is a lot more easy on the eye, but it seems the chassis is no longer very popular, as it has been overshadowed by both the Mercedes Econic and the recently introduced low profile Scania chassis. Because IVECO chassis are not all that highly regarded by many fire services, Magirus ladders are increasingly found on all kinds of other chassis these days, whether low profile or not.
Yes, Rob correct, as an observation, I have mainly seen these models southern Germany : Munich, Augsburg, Stuttgart, Freiburg. However, every FD I visited the staff praised its performances and maneuverability
