These are very interesting, not least because the vast majority of German fire services use pods for special extinguishing media delivery. These custom 6X2 units can be brought into use quite a lot more quickly, but are a bit less versatile. The reason for their existence may be to provide better coverage as well as a permanent response capability rather than relying on a WLF/AB container solution. No question however that these are a much more costly and therefore rather unusual approach.

I think these must be among the first Volvo units bought by Munich. Although Scania has grown very quickly as a supplier to German fire services in the Padres five years Volvos are still quite rare.

Yes correct these are the first 3 Volvo in Munich. MAN growing impressively as well, Munich ordered 80 Pump-Rescue MAN-Ziegler over the next years and will replace the MB-Magirus
