In many other countries as well as in France it is common for water tenders to have capacities in the 3000 to 4000 litre range. It is also quite a lot more frequent than in the UK to see high capacity tankers in service as backup water supply sources. They are very often seen in Scandinavia, Benelux, Germany, Poland and the Iberian Peninsula. Capacities range from 6000 litres on two axles to 13000 on four, with articulated trailer tankers occasionally turning up with over 24000.
