Metal ladder. Very much longer than the contemporary wooden escape ladders which were around all over England for the best part of 150 years! These were mostly 15 metres although a few 18 metre versions existed. This truck looks like it had a crew of eight, and I can only imagine it needed all of them to maneuver this gigantic ladder around. No water tank, but it seems to have had a rear mounted pump and - possibly - one or two hose carts, although they are obviously no longer on board….
