Zastava 50-8A, Sigetec, CroatiaOne of the more unusual fire engines I have photographed on my travels was this Zastava 50-8A in the small town of Sigetec, Croatia in 2023.
Zastava was a manufacturer in the former Yugoslavia founded in 1853 in the current Serbia. They went backrupt in 2017. From the 1980s onwards they manufactured Fiat brands until 2008 when Fiat purchased the site and became Fiat Serbia.
This particularly vehicle looks like it began life as perhaps a utility vehicle.
