Just as the Dennis F12 was the classic British fire engine of the fifties, the Bedford TK took over the crown in the sixties, with numerous body builders serving city, borough and above all county brigades with almost every variety of fire appliance imaginable. Although it's predecessor, the S series was quite popular too, it was nowhere near as advanced as the TK design, which dominated fire appliance fleets in the U.K. - and quite a few export markets as well - very quickly after its introduction. Of all the body manufacturers, I personally think this HCB Angus design was probably the most effective. Admitting my bias, the all red painted examples looked the best!
