Another vintage beauty from the twenties still trundling around on its solid tyres. BTW the big hook on the back is one of a pair for a large two man hose cart, which was still a feature of German pumpers for many decades after this example was built. It carried numerous pre-connected twenty meter long 75mm hoses. Because these had Stortz couplings, it could be used for attack, hydrant supply or water relay lines, all run out from the pump itself. Smaller diameter attack hoses, usually 52mm in several pre-connected fifteen meter lengths, were also carried on the two side reels. These were designed to be carried by two men, rather than rolled along the ground. They too remained in use for half a century - until lightweight one man hose baskets were invented.

At this time, pumpers very rarely had water tanks, but were often accompanied by a first aid hose reel tender with a small tank. Small diameter 19mm hose reels were actually not often installed on German pumpers when they added water tanks, and are still comparatively rare.
