It seems different ideas are evolving when it comes to fire service drone support and transportation. Some brigades are adding dedicated drone units like this example, others are equipping existing and/or new command vehicles with drones, many are adding drones to rescue tenders and trucks, while a few seem to be adding them to rescue pumpers where there is enough room to accommodate them. They are of course very useful, especially at large structure fires and in many rescue situations, where a “bird’s eye” view of the incident can be very helpful, and are increasingly used in many places. Hopefully their use will become routine enough that they will soon become a widespread standard feature of firefighting command and control.
