Hard to tell from the angle of this photo, but this example had either a very short two door crew cab ( much favored on French TTLs back then) or possibly an American style canopy cab like the contemporary Dennis F17. In either case, the design afforded enough clearance behind the cab to rotate the ladder a full 360 degrees. This requirement was one reason full length crew cabs disappeared from ladders, along with the gradual reduction in crew sizes down to only one, two or occasionally three.
