American chassis were quite common in many European countries’ fire services, even into the 1950s - before European truck manufacturers found their feet again after WWII. In Denmark, Norway, Belgium and the Netherlands, which had no domestic truck manufacturing they were still around in some brigades well into the seventies. Chevrolet, Dodge, Ford and International were all represented in quite large numbers.
