The front compartment contains two 1000 litre class B foam tanks, which can be removed from each side and reloaded if necessary. The hose load is split with a central walkway accessed from the rear, and this rear compartment also contains foam making equipment and branches. It is enclosed, with a hydraulic rear lift gate. This design has been in use for several decades now, and is found in other big city fire services in France as well as in Paris. The CA is part of the first response to high risk fires, and is otherwise a special called unit. The BSPP also has ( I believe ) three heavy foam pumper tankers as well as several CA trucks in service.
