Reminds me of Darlington’s 1904 station, which still survives. It was replaced in the mid sixties by a new station on the recently constructed inner ring road only a few hundred yards from it, and was turned, without much modification, into a dedicated ambulance station. Since then, the ambulances have also been relocated and it is now a commercial company operation.
One shared feature is the bifold doors, and the bay size, which is quite narrow by modern standards. At Darlington, it was impossible to open the doors on appliances in adjacent bays, so the second or third due unit’s crew all had to wait for the preceding one to clear out first!
